La CarmenTango

Passion, love, obsession and..... tango

   La CarmenTango

An international premiere from Argentina, La  CarmenTango, takes the world’s most loved story of passion, obsession, and revenge and sets it in Buenos Aires circa 1900.  With thirty musicians from the Pan American Symphony Orchestra, guest musicians from Argentina  and the Bowen McCauley Dance Company, CarmenTango, combines tango dance and ballet to bring audiences a unique and cutting-edge show unlike any Carmen ever seen by U.S. audiences. Straight from Buenos Aires, choreographer Alicia Orlando, and tango composer Raul Garello, team up to depict the well-known Carmen themes with novel characters typical of the Buenos Aires docks at the turn of the last century. With Alicia Orlando, Claudio Barneix and Lucy Bowen McCauley as principal dancers.
